This is one of a number of reviews of the 1849 Tithe Registers, which look at the village layout and tenancies at that time, contrasting with the next main checkpoint of the 1918 Auction. The review is based on the tithe-holder name, looking at the various plots that make up their tithe commitment. The blue dots on the various tithe areas highlight the allocated tithes. See here for an index to the other tithe records in a similar format.

The Line family had farmed at Ling Hall for many years (see here for details). This review relates to Joseph Line Senior, who had lands at the northern-eastern end of Limestone Lane near the newly established railway line (distinct from the village farm holding at that time).

It might be noted that there were several marriage links between the Line family and the Dalton family of Church Lawford, and at least two of the fields farmed by the family were named Clockmakers Close – possibly linked to the craftsmen in the Dalton family who made renowned clocks and watches.
