2018 – One Hundred Years on From the Great War

During the period from 2014 to 2018 the village remembered events of the Great War (1914 to 1918) that took place 100 years earlier. In particular the village bellringers staged a tribute to each of the villagers who were lost in that conflict, with a peal of bells of the 100th anniversary of their passing – details here.

In November 2018 there was a special event staged at St Peters, with recollections from the time of the Great War, and a floral tribute in a church window to each of the men that lost their lives in that conflict. A number of villagers had knitted poppies to display in the church on this occasion.
