Details of the census held in 1911 are linked below
The 1911 census was taken at a time when almost all the villagers were involved with either farming activities or the sorts of trades needed by the agricultural industry – one which was still largely “horse powered” in such a rural location. Transport links were still limited, mostly horse drawn or via bicycle. Education was also confined to a local level. Tens years later, in the 1921 census linked here, quite a few of these constraints were being removed, and the country had gone through the First World War.
