The Church of England Temperance Society, detailed here, also had a junior movement, known as the Band of Hope, Both movements were active in Kings Newnham and Church Lawford, with the Worth Townsend family and Kings Newnham farmer John Brierly being major sponsors.
The Rugby Advertiser documented many of their meetings at the latter end of the 19th Century, through into the twentieth century, with this example from February 1911.
