This is one of a number of reviews of the 1849 Tithe Registers, which look at the village layout and tenancies at that time, contrasting with the next main checkpoint of the 1918 Auction. The review is based on the tithe-holder name, looking at the various plots that make up their tithe commitment. The blue dots on the various tithe areas highlight the allocated tithes. Back in the middle of the 19th Century there were a number of differences to the layout of both Kings Newnham and Brinklow parishes towards the northern edge of the latter. Although the Fosse Way was well established, the roads linking to this were rather different. The canal too followed a different course, being known more as a contour canal, snaking into Brinklow village before the Easenhall Cutting was made to shorten the route.
