For many centuries Church Festivals have been an important part of village life. Some are still as important as ever, whilst some are less prominent in the twenty-first century. Although not a Church Festival as such, the annual Remembrance Service at the Village War Memorial has been a fixture for many years – see here.
Other festivities such as the May Parade, the Empire Day Celebration and various Coronation and Jubilee celebrations would often involve church services, church visits or the involvement of the local clergy.
