Kings Newnham Lodge dominates the horizon when viewed from many parts of the two villages. From there the terrain drops down in four directions – north towards Highfields, east towards Little Lawford down Little Lawford Lane, down into Kings Newnham village, or down and along towards Brinklow via a largely unnamed road, anecdotally known as Beggars Rest by many, but a road that seems to appear on maps as Bretford Road. It links with the Fosse Way just after passing Goode’s Farm.
