Liz Parvin in her 2014 Village Newsletter history of Kings Newnham notes that at the time of the 1918 village sale, Manor House farm and Highfields farm were both farmed by Mr. William Dunn, who stayed there until the 1930’s. In 1938 both Highfields and Manor House farms, and several cottages, were up for sale again.

In the 1938 sale catalogue Manor House farm, now let to Mr. E.J.Fox, claims to have ‘Electricity from the Leicestershire and Warwickshire Electron Power Company’s mains’, but has a water supply from a spring ‘by means of gravitation”. It was in this sale that the farm was sold to Ian Meikle and his brother who had come down from Scotland. Ian was the father of John and Alastair who were farming the land when Liz wrote the article in 2014.

Further history of this farm will be added on this page.

There are different ways of navigating the maps there – the “Marker Pin” option is ideal for finding maps that cover a particular area, and the “Side By Side” viewer is excellent for comparing an old map with a current day view.
