By the time of the 1918 Village Auction the various assets of this farm had been assembled and modified many times over the years, with different tenants owning different assets – further confused by the advent of the railway during the 19th Century which divided up some of those lands. Local farming families such as the Line, Benn, Billingham or Burnham families had farmed some of those lands.
